Fern is my favorite park in town. Very nice scenery especially in the Summer/Fall months. It is really nice for kids playing games, baseball, tennis, basketball, and the pool. It is a very safe and quiet park with lots of green grass and a lovely brook running through it. I enjoy visiting Fern park and it is the perfect place for a Pre-Work stroll.

The tennis courts are great—well maintained and nets still up at Thanksgiving. As winters get warmer I wish the nets would always stay up until December! We played over Thanksgiving break.

Plenty of room to roam around and a few different playgrounds for the young and very young. There’s a splash playground for the little ones, public swimming pools (with changing areas & restrooms), a small pond (I’ve heard that they apparently they stock it with fish)… and there’s fields for picnicking, tossing the ball, and roaming around. I’d recommend checking the local website to ensure the water features are open, but everything else is open until sundown.

As far as public pools go Fernridge Park is a nice one. Within the fenced area is both a larger deeper pool and a shallow pool with a sloping "beach" perfect for small children. In a separate area is a splash pad. Nearby is a field for playing and a basketball court. The only criticism of the park is the town doesn't chase away the Canada geese and as a result parts of the park are covered with goose droppings.

Great facility for toddlers and older kids. Lots of shaded areas to relax. And the splash pad was just big enough

We liked this park!!! The kid's place perfect for summer...the park with tables to eat and the playground area...There is a pool too.. so it is a perfect place to spend your summer time!!!!

After a long hiatus, I walked into Fern Pool with my Mom, and took a deep breath. The remodeling they did was super professional, and well planned. This will be Fern's second Heyday. The original glory days were in the mid 60s when my mom brought ME here as a youngster. Beautiful water, wonderful community, and a kind, competent and courteous staff. As long as Good Ol mom can still swim, we will show up at Fern Park Pool for some precious swims!

The best park in West Hartford! The pool is great, not TOO crowded and the staff are friendly. I would give it 5 stars except the geese poop makes this place unbearable at times.
